an unconventional review

I don't know if you'll appreciate this review. For two reasons:

- my bad english

- I'm non a photographer. I'm barely have to start learning about this mysterious and fashinating world.

Hence I decided to buy a Leica, just like someone who has stil to get the driver licence and decide to buy a Ferrari 488.

During my journey from deriding people that were looking at the world thought a lens hole to falling in love at what you can see in that piece of glass I bought and sent back after 15 minutes a Sony a6000, tried, read and saw every Fujifilm X-T20's - first - and X-E3's reviews available. Even about their lenses too. At least digging the web teach me the few things that I learn about this art/hobby/passion, check the box that suit you best... :)

Having no experience means that I had no expectations. I only wanted a small camera that looks and operate vintage and that was easy to use...

...and then I saw her. Yes, HER, it's not a mistake. When an objiect conveys deep emotions that are difficult to explain you can no longer consider it as a IT.

I catched a Leica promo that offered the chanche to buy the camera with a 10% off and to pay with zero interests in 30 months. That means a Leica cl + 18mm kit for 104€ each month.

When I got out the store with the enormous bag - and after being greeted with a "Wellcome in Leica" - I felt excited like a kid, but when, at home, I got her out of the box I felt breathless. Literally. It was live being invested from Leica's heritage. I felt the story in my hand. Probably it was only a matter of suggestion, but I like to think that I was wrapped by an intangible echo of the past.

Ok, I don't know how many of you resisted to the boring narration of my feelings and to those who have persevered in the reading I only want to write that in my opinion there's no other camera that can make you feel that you are playing with something easy and advanced at the same time that merges retro analog feelings with the comfort of the digital era. The trio of exposure at your fingerti... ahem! forefinger...

To se her is to like her: don't look at the specs, just hear your heart.

Yes, Leica has the same effect on a lot of us. I first experienced it when I bought my first Leica M2 back in the 1970s.  The CL had the same effect when I finally got my hands on one early this year.

Welcome to the forum. We look forward to your contributions and if you need help we are a friendly lot.

Thank you all for your welcome... :) It’so strange to learn that so many people felt the same kind of emotions while approacing a Leica... :)

Some week ago I met a guy who was shooting with an M10 and I was delighted to see that despite my “photographic ignorance” and the tons of questions that I asked him, he threated me so friendly. And he shooted the best picture actually saved on my sdcard with simplicity too...

Hereby the picture that he shooted. Letting aside the quality of the image - it's an iper compressed image -  the key how he succed to frame the exact moment before the boy entered the water. It seems that he's upside down on the sea with resting on his hands...
