Nikkor lenses on M240

I just bought a M240 and it is not clear to me if it possible to mount Nikkor lenses ( trough an adaptor) on it, and if this is the case there will be limitations in use ?

You'll need the electronic viewfinder too, of course.

I often use Nikkor zooms. They are very good.

 

The zoom Nikkor 28-50 f3.5 is versatile with its close-up capabilities. A pretty heavy rig though....but most old zooms are heavy.

And the Micro-Nikkor 55mm f3.5 and f2.8, are wonderful macro lenses too. Makes for a comfortable balanced rig on the M240...and still gives a 55mm perspective.

You can get an adapter on eBay, it doesn't need to be expensive because it only acts as a spacer. Then you need an Olympus VF-2 EVF, or use the camera on a tripod with Live View, and you are ready to go.

Yes of course I already have the EVF 2.

When using the M240 with adapter and Nikkor lens shall I keep all functions of camera or will I loose something ?

The camera will lose automatic EVF magnification, you will need to use the front button (and thumb wheel) for that.

With the M240 and the EVF I can (finally) focus my 50mm 1.2. AIS properly wide open! Highly recommended to give it a try.

I have a M240 a lot of Nikkor lenses and an adapter. But..I never use the Nikon on the M 240. It's IMHO more fun ( and faster ) to use them on a Nikon body.

I have a 28-85 Nikkor and sometimes I use it. Once I tried an experiment of keeping EVF on all the time with Nikkor lens attached to M240 during my photo walk for couple of hours. Camera was set to sleep in 2 min and I woke it up by tapping shutter when I wanted to shoot. I compared the experience with same Nikkor on FM2 and surprisingly found M240 a better platform than FM2 (mainly focusing ease by zoom magnification as opposed to split prism).

I too have a slew of Nikkors, an adapter, and the EVF.  I have used Nikkors (and an R zoom) on the M240, and the images are fine, but the EVF and bulky lenses defeat the two reasons I use the M system.  I use Canon for my DSLR, and I find adapting my Nikkors (all manual focus) to it is a much nicer experience both in terms of handling and viewing/focusing.  I do use one Nikkor frequently on my M240 though...a 105mm f/2.5 which is rangefinder coupled.
