algrove Posted July 13, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 13, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a coiled Nikon flash sync cord that I was hoping to use with my M10 and some small flash. I am not looking to spend hundreds of dollars for this setup as it will be seldom used.
Advertisement Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 Hi algrove, Take a look here Anyone using a small off camera flash unit with the M10?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
helohe Posted July 13, 2018 Share #2 Posted July 13, 2018 You can basically use any flash you like but you won't have TTL metering or any other functionality that requires data exchange between camera and flash unless you use a leica flash or a flash which explicitly states that it is compatible with leica (some metz flashes and some chinese ones). However, I do find this system quite interesting https://lightpixlabs.com/collections/all I haven't tried it, but it is small enough size.

I liked the q20 flash compactness and built in receiver especially the trigger. However the guide number might be a little low, real usage might be a little challenging not talk about adding on light modifiers. Size wise, it is a perfect match for the M camera. I have two SF60s & one SF C1 which I use for my SL, even that can be challenging when I use it outdoors on HSS + light modifiers.
algrove Posted July 15, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted July 15, 2018 (edited) I have the Nikon SC-28 flash cord which fits the M10 well. So I have a Profoto A1 for Nikon and this cord even powers that flash! I know it's not small, but just might work for my limited needs if I can hand hold it while shooting on the street.
