thedwp Posted July 6, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 6, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone have the Silver anodized Q? If so is the silver starting to show wear? Do you regret it vs the black? I’m considering one and wanted to get some comments before I make the leap. Thx!
Advertisement Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Hi thedwp, Take a look here Silver Q. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Deliberate1 Posted July 6, 2018 Share #2 Posted July 6, 2018 I have the silver. It is gorgeous. I have always been a black guy camera - M9, S 006 (obviously) - but find the silver version of the Q to be particularly elegant. Provides an added presence to a small camera body. Plus, the silver takes better pictures. Proven fact. David
mike3996 Posted July 6, 2018 Share #3 Posted July 6, 2018 Are we talking about the silver Q which is mostly black, or an all-silvery Q? The Limited Snow Edition should probably take the best photos

bherman01545 Posted July 6, 2018 Share #5 Posted July 6, 2018 (edited) On the contrary, the Titanium and Black are both painted, while the silver chrome Q is plated (anodized), like the silver chrome M Series Leica's. The silver chrome cameras should be the most durable. With that being said, all cameras are subject to some wear over time. -Brad Edited July 6, 2018 by bherman01545
thedwp Posted July 6, 2018 Author Share #6 Posted July 6, 2018 thanks for the feedback...if it's a scientific fact that it takes better pictures, it's a must!

zampelis Posted July 6, 2018 Share #8 Posted July 6, 2018 (edited) I love the silver, but I would too love the black version if I owned one. The problem that I have with the silver is whenever I went out to take some street photos, many times I had someone asking me questions about it. This has made me aware of using it and has led me to take less street shots than what I would usually take. I think buying a black case is a must. By the way, the silver anodisation is very durable, if you treat it well it will not show wear. The thing is that until you build muscle memory, you will probably make some small scratches here and there at the beginning if you dont use it with a case. I made a couple small scratches on it the first couple of weeks (I was lucky they both are at the base!). Except of that, I have been using it almost 3 and a half months and it looks like new.
