vi_chanceux Posted July 5, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 5, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, someone knows how the M6 Millennium differs from the M6, except the color? Viewfinder? Electronics? Film advance? Shutter?

wattsy Posted July 6, 2018 Share #2 Posted July 6, 2018 M6 Millennium is essentially a black paint M6TTL with MP style knob rewind and film advance lever.
vi_chanceux Posted July 6, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted July 6, 2018 M6 Millennium is essentially a black paint M6TTL with MP style knob rewind and film advance lever. I have M6TTL, and I want to buy the Millennium. I compared them. Platoon shutter at Millenium seemed to me softer and smoother. Shutter release is quieter. Can anyone know for sure that there are no technical changes? Then I will order MP a-la-carte. Forgive my poor english)
a.noctilux Posted July 6, 2018 Share #4 Posted July 6, 2018 Hello vi_chanceux, MP "à la carte" or not maybe better choice, if you already own M6 TTL. With M6 Millenium, just "cosmetic move" but in many functionalities (if not all) are the same. MP has better viewfinder (I had MP two times in the past) bettered only by M-A's VF completed framelines. A bit less tall than M6 TTL in my view, MP is handsome. The shutter speed button of MP, smaller turns the other way than M6TTL. And how about new MP vs second hand Millenium, and 17 years younger .
Lukas F. Posted July 6, 2018 Share #5 Posted July 6, 2018 Keep in mind that if the light meter of an M6 TTL fails not even Leica might be able to fix it.

a.noctilux Posted July 6, 2018 Share #7 Posted July 6, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) If not already seen, have a look at RFF site for "à la carte MP" discussions; https://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=164958 if you can wait many months for the one and unique Leica just for you.
harmen Posted July 10, 2018 Share #8 Posted July 10, 2018 I can echo that the MP has both a better finder and operates a tad smoother, a la carte or standard.
sunnymoone Posted July 13, 2018 Share #9 Posted July 13, 2018 Thank you all for your opinion. I, too, tend to the new MP a la carte You confirmed this) Congratulation. Both M6 and MP are good cameras. I ordered a MP a la carte last year in Jan and it took 4 months to arrive, so be patient.
