It does require special processing, because of the REMJET black back coating used only on cine films. Give this film to a regular C-41 lab, and you'll trash their chemicals, filling them with black goo. You will not be popular after that. ;)

Process ECN-2 has a pre-bath (Borax, Sodum sulphate, Sodium hydroxide, water) to soften the REMJET coating, and a power-spray washing step to remove it completely - before the film enters the more-or-less normal C-41 development steps.

Cinefilm, the company, washes off the REMJET coating on their films before drying it and rolling it into casettes for sale (all in the dark, of course).

well i have neither bought nor given it to anyone to develop, i'm merely asking if anyone here has used these films on their M cameras.

The place that's selling this, can also process cine film..so i assume its all good...anyways will go there and check out the shop+lab

by the way have you used any rolled cine films before ? was wondering about metering and exposure issues if any...the examples i saw look beautiful

As above. Remjet helps reduce friction in motion pictures but can gum up the bath traditionally.

Same film as Vision3 which is superb. Portra 800 is based on the same tech
