I think Stuart means they have no spikes.

great picture. A beautiful example of "a good walk spoiled"--struggling hopelessly against the elements of nature.

 

I've never played golf, but I have slept in a Holiday Inn Express, and so I'm an expert. :-) . To me, it's not the lack of spikes, but that his stance is way too open for that type of shot--feet should be closer together so he can keep his hands in more and therefore be more in control of a complicated shot. Getting out of a bunker, it's less about power than accuracy. At least, that's what Tiger Woods's wife thought....

thanks for providing feedback for a kid that is shooting around par (69-75). i also thought i would give him feedback but as he beats me big every time i now just shut up and enjoy!
