Same gear again etc.

Subject is a Currawong bird, notoriously shy. I coaxed this one, over a week or so with minced steak in my left hand and M8+ 60/2.8 in right hand.

Quite pleased with how I preset focus, at f2.8.

Oops. Just noticed the dirty neg. Needs rewashing.

To reach a cat, over the tree branch. I don't remember the lens; should be 50/2 2nd version.

Agree; the 280mm f4 APO-Telyt-R is an optical masterpiece (particularly at shortish to mid distances), and the 1,4x APO-Extender-R does hardly impact the image quality at all.

For those interested: Details can be seen on a decent desktop screen, click and open the image at 2000 pixel resolution; veins are seen in the Robin's mouth & the feather is nicely rendered without artefact(s).

I remember when I was young I went with friends to a stargazing shelter being unaware of this. Imagine the reaction of my friends when, after an hour of dark adaptation, I took this photo with the flash! They too - however - pointed to the stars with their fingers in complete darkness ...

50/2 at f ?
