Leica SL (601) with 1970 Elmarit-R 2.8/90.  Remarkably good lens.  Sharp wide-open except for the edges.  This shot taken at f/5.6 looking north towards the famous White Cliffs, just past St Margaret's Bay, Kent.

My tiny friend is late arriving at "her" construction runoff puddle pond for her fourth winter here, and just as skittish as ever.  Flying away on eye contact, even at 20+ meters,  her longevity is likely aided by her mistrustfulness.  For reference, it's not unusual for some Common Kingfishers here to allow a photographer within 5 meters or so while remaining calmly perched.  I'm just glad to see her back, even at a distance.
