Shot the PAN AM 747-100 at Melbourne airport back in 1979 on my way to SAN FRANCISCO.

Leica R3 + 50mm f2  Kodachrome 64, the glass is tinted as well not to clean.

The QUEEN looks a little tired but she got me there.

CL/280mm f/4 APO-Telyt-R/APO-Extender-R 1.4X . . .

Oriental Magpie Robin, almost all her adult feathers grown in now.  She and her two more shy siblings had barely fledged when I first started seeing them, no sign of either parent.  They stuck together, survived, and now entertain with their melodious voices.

CL/280mm f/4 APO-Telyt-R/APO-Extender-R 1.4X . . .

Black-Naped Oriole . . . a difficult subject for getting feather details, but the 280 does a nice job here, even against mild backlight . . .

As always, jaw-dropping pictures, Rob, please keep posting them! 😊

Pete.

Thanks for your kind words, Pete.  Credit goes to the amazing, phenomenal glass, augmented by just a bit of patience on my part.

Same setup as above . . .

Little Heron, obviously miffed that I found him at his new fishing spot . . . 😏
