strohscw Posted July 1, 2018 Share #101 Posted July 1, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Here my first try with 4min exposure. Two things: .) when using a filter (in this case grey) the f-stop calculation does not work, that´s clear why .) the reason why I would like to switch off LENR is the fact that when using long exposures and pano with this doubling of time the chance to run into lightchanges also doubles. 4min, f11, Tri-Elmar Welcome, dear visitor! Reciprocity Posted July 3, 2018 Share #103 Posted July 3, 2018 Just read this and updated with no issues. Any word on increased long exposures across the board or just low ISO?
tomas.zverbik@icloud.com Posted September 2, 2018 Share #104 Posted September 2, 2018 Hey friends, maybe I am wrong, because I didn't found anything on the internet about this issue. I am new in M (moved from Q to M10 few days ago). I don't understand ISO200 as default as improvement. In bright conditions, Auto iso doesn't use ISO100 even tough 1/4000s is not enough to right exposure. Picture is overexposured. I have to switch manually to ISO 100 to make picture looking good. Am I wrong or this is real issue? How about you? Thank You. Tomas
pgh Posted September 2, 2018 Share #105 Posted September 2, 2018 Hey friends, maybe I am wrong, because I didn't found anything on the internet about this issue. Am I wrong or this is real issue? How about you? Thank You. Tomas ISO 100 is a "pull" on the sensor - the dynamic range of the images captured at ISO 100 is noticeably reduced. In short, ISO 100 gives worse image quality than ISO 200, and since most people use a lower ISO for better image quality as a primary goal, Leica decided to stop automating ISO 100. If you wanna go there, you can, but you gotta force it, cuz it's usually not a good idea. Your situation would usually be solved by closing down the aperture instead, or if you must shoot wide aperture use an ND filter and stick at 200. Or just go to ISO 100 and lose highlight retention (if that exists in your particular frame).
holgerf Posted July 7, 2019 Share #106 Posted July 7, 2019 As great it is that we have 4 min now max exposure time - is there any reason for the fact that using the T-function exposure max is only 2 minutes? best Holger
