LUF Admin Posted June 29, 2018 Share #1 Posted June 29, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Today Leica released the firmware update v 2.4.5.0 for the Leica M10 - it brings an improved Auto ISO option, a revised Delete dialog and more. Of course we thank our firmware beta testers for their support! Leica M10 Firmware Download All Improvements at a glance Optimisation of the delete menu: The graphic user interface for the deletion of pictures has been revised. Longer exposure times: Exposure times of up to four minutes are now possible at base ISO. New continuous shooting mode with lower frame rate: An additional continuous shooting mode is now available (Continuous Low Speed, three frames per second). ‘Load profile’ is now available in the favourites menu. Aperture value in EXIF data: The camera compares the brightness measured through the lens with the measured ambient brightness to estimate the aperture used. This value is then written to the EXIF data. In some cases, the interpretation of the subject or scene may lead to incorrect estimation of the aperture value, for instance when shooting subjects or scenes with high contrast and black or white objects. LED deactivation: The red LED on the back of the camera can now be deactivated in the control elements menu. Auto-ISO setting: Auto-ISO for base ISO is set to the default value of ISO 200 to optimise dynamic range. Installation instructions Download the new firmware file to your computer. Prepare the SD card for installation: Please make sure that the card contains at least 200 MB of free disk space. It is recommended to format the card inside the camera before continuing. Copy the firmware file to the root directory of the SD card. Eject the SD card properly from your computer. Insert the SD card into the camera and switch the camera on. Go to Main Menu / Camera Information / Camera Firmware Press “Yes” to confirm and start the process; You may confirm to save your current profiles to the SD card before proceeding with the update. Wait until the update installation is completed: Message "Update successful. Camera will restart" Please load your last saved profiles from the SD card after the first startup. The update process is complete.

helohe Posted June 29, 2018 Share #2 Posted June 29, 2018 Looks like out of camera jpeg's got improved as well. Or maybe this is just a side effect of having base iso 200. Looks like a good update so far.
leica5 Posted June 29, 2018 Share #3 Posted June 29, 2018 I suspect down load site has crashed at the moment.
pedaes Posted June 29, 2018 Share #4 Posted June 29, 2018 (edited) That went smoothly. Some worthwhile changes. Thank you Leica. To show "Load Profile" in the Favourites menu, have of course to change all Profiles to reflect this which was most tedious part - but heck, nice to have! strohscw Posted June 29, 2018 Share #5 Posted June 29, 2018 I love to have 4min eposure time, would love to have the possibility to disable LENR, but its a first and important step. Thanks Leica, love my M10.
LBJ2 Posted June 29, 2018 Share #6 Posted June 29, 2018 Happy dance! I never knew how much I would miss aperture value in EXIF data until I realized I didn't have it after I bought the M10 my first Leica camera.
ol' timer Posted June 29, 2018 Share #7 Posted June 29, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) This update does not have the one thing I have been waiting for - Android version of the WiFi App. Why no Android even after all this time, when I had and used it seamlessly with my Q two years ago? Come on Leica, please rectify this ASAP
UliWer Posted June 29, 2018 Share #8 Posted June 29, 2018 There are some minor changes unmentioned in the sheet for Firmware 2.4.5.0: Exposure compensation is indicated with the right values in replay (not always -2 as before) The pre-asph 1:1,435mm Summilux (11869/11870/11860) is again in the manual list for lens detection (was left out by the M10 before) When you use the Macro-Adapter-M you can now choose an appropriate lens - e.g. the 4/90 Macro-Elmar - manually from the list (before even though the adapter is coded you only got indicated "uncoded" or even "2.8/28mm"). The little red LED, which showed in the viewfinder with manual exposure mode and had no function, has disappered
horosu Posted June 29, 2018 Share #9 Posted June 29, 2018 Wow for me: the re-inclusion of the Leica Summilux 35/1.4 pre-asph (11860, etc) in the lens menu. I raised this issue with Leica recently. A big Thumbs Up for listening to user requests
NigelG Posted June 29, 2018 Share #10 Posted June 29, 2018 I assume there’s still no horizon / level/tilt which I use constantly on the M240 ?
JAC Posted June 29, 2018 Share #11 Posted June 29, 2018 Thank you Leica! Much appreciated. I did really miss the estimated aperture value.
microview Posted June 29, 2018 Share #12 Posted June 29, 2018 (edited) I assume there’s still no horizon / level/tilt which I use constantly on the M240 ? However, process went smoothly. Takes 8-10minutes with final segment on progress bar very slow. Edited June 29, 2018 by microview
UliWer Posted June 29, 2018 Share #13 Posted June 29, 2018 >>The pre-asph 1:1,435mm Summilux (11869/11870/11860) is again in the manual list for lens detection (was left out by the M10 before) I just did the upgrade to the new firmware, followed instructions, restarted camera etc. This lens is still not listed in my lens detection menu for Leica M lenses! Strange. That is strange. Did you check if you really are on 2.4.5.0? The "old" 35mm Summilux is in the list: Welcome, dear visitor! eraydinc Posted June 29, 2018 Share #15 Posted June 29, 2018 Wouw. Excellent update. And now LV framerate is 60fps. no lag, much details. Perfect! And now continuous shooting mode with lower frame rate is better than single shoot mode because you can full push (almost) to release button if you want single shoot in this mode. cldp Posted June 29, 2018 Share #18 Posted June 29, 2018 Thank you, Leica, for the firmware improvements. Nonetheless, I'm very disappointed that the spirit level hasn't been brought back with this update, especially since it's been 1.5 years since the M10 was delivered.

eraydinc Posted June 29, 2018 Share #20 Posted June 29, 2018 (edited) How can M10 calculate aperture value? Or just add max. f/ value to EXIF data? Because I couldn't see my different aperture values on Lightroom with my summaron 28 f/5.6 Edited June 29, 2018 by eraydinc
