Guest Posted June 29, 2018 Share #1 Posted June 29, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Arrived late last night in Barcelona, but had already had 5 hours sleep on the flight from Dubai so I was raring to go and explore the city. By the time I had checked in and got showered it was already 10:30pm so I headed out into town (only a 5 minute walk) to see what Barcelona had to offer. With my M10 in the hotel room safe, I went window shopping and there was plenty to choose from, Brazilian, Venezuelan, Spanish and even some Asian (that would be like taking coal to Wales Anyway we had a really good night (I did anyway) and set the alarm for 6am to go and shoot some of the gothic area of Barcelona before the crowds arrived. Below are a few pictures of how the locals get around Barcelona along with a couple of Gothic shots.........I also got some shots of Yumi but will save those for a rainy day Welcome, dear visitor! Ouroboros Posted June 29, 2018 Share #6 Posted June 29, 2018 Bromptons are obviously becoming popular in Barcelona. Ideal transport for those who live in appartments.

jaapv Posted June 29, 2018 Share #12 Posted June 29, 2018 There are some nice shots there, Neil, but I fail to see the added value of the Noctilux. Especially the last three would have benefited from deeper DOF.

Especially the last three would have benefited from deeper DOF.JaapvI remember in my previous life on this forum I had a thread going on the versatility of the Noctilux. There are a few members on here (you included) for some reason just don't like the Noctilux........my take on it is this...... Out of all of the Leica 50mm lenses APO included.... the Noctilux can perform as well if not better than most and NONE of the others can shoot at 0.95. The Noctilux us an amazing lens in the right hands........go try one, you might like it Neil

pgk Posted June 29, 2018 Share #19 Posted June 29, 2018 (edited) why The use of f/0.95 does nothing other than yield a technically acceptable exposure. It does not elevate the photo from being a record shot in low light. If you'd upped the ISO and shot it at f/2 it would still be an acceptable record shot but nothing more. jmahto Posted June 29, 2018 Share #20 Posted June 29, 2018 Barcelona Cathedral Neil, loved the shots... I was in Barcelona last months and enjoyed the city (my first time). However, I found 28mm cramped in Gothic quarter. My 28mm was barely able to get the cathedral shot you have. Needed wider. I also liked your shots taken early in the day. There are too many tourists later.
