... and dear close personal friend.  The name is Борис Смелов / Boris Smelov.  The place of birth and death – St. Petersburg, Russia,  His Iifespan: 1951 –1998.

We met many years ago in our native city and became close friends very soon.  He was a very poor, super intellectual and talented gent who loved his old Leica, shoot fantastically artistic photos with it, was not recognized by the darn Soviets.  Only after he tragically died, Hermitage museum had his work exhibit selling the albums of it for a lot of $$ ( https://www.hermitagemuseum.org/wps/portal/hermitage/what-s-on/temp_exh/2018/smelov/?lng= ).

On the walls of my house, in the drawer of my desk there are a lot of Boris' prints.  Just before his death I, planning to visit our native city and Boris, bought as a gift for him three Summicrons, regretfully it's me who is using them nowadays.

Attache are three very low quality just taken snapshots of his works on my walls.

P.S.  What makes me happy is a funny accident.  Because we wondered together and occasionally swapped cameras, one of my shots has been mistakenly assumed to be his and exhibited under Boris' name. :)
