stunsworth Posted September 20, 2018 Share #122 Posted September 20, 2018 I'm happy to meet in any pub that sells Old Speckled Hen. Oh dear, I think you're going to be disappointed. On the other hand, if you want to eat an old speckled hen you're in the right town.
wlaidlaw Posted September 20, 2018 Share #123 Posted September 20, 2018 Oh dear, I think you're going to be disappointed. On the other hand, if you want to eat an old speckled hen you're in the right town. I think there are quite a few of those offering special services in the darker streets of the old town. andybarton Posted September 24, 2018 Author Share #127 Posted September 24, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just been looking at the way to get from the Airport to the Metro just round the corner from where we are staying The Lyon City Card (3 days) with a return trip to the airport looks pretty good value to me at 59 Euro. The rail fare return is 26.20 Euro on its own. https://www.rhonexpress.fr/en/commande/176/Page/get?subAction=cdewidget/e-boutique/?lang=fr_FR&type=widgetRequest?lang=en_GB&type=widgetRequest&lib=10040&qte=2

andybarton Posted September 24, 2018 Author Share #129 Posted September 24, 2018 The Metro won't get you to the airport though That 3 day ticket includes access to all the museums, and other touristy discount stuff. Too late now anyway - I have them printed...

stunsworth Posted September 24, 2018 Share #133 Posted September 24, 2018 That's where the cafe for the lunchtime meet up is situated. Top or bottom? Apologies if I missed it being announced. I’ve been in a couple of the cafes at the bottom. Handy for the old town too.

stunsworth Posted September 24, 2018 Share #135 Posted September 24, 2018 Thanks Andy, I'm staying near Sans-Souci so no worries - get line D to the old town at the bottom of the hill and then the funicular up it.
larsv Posted September 27, 2018 Share #136 Posted September 27, 2018 Unfortunately, my outlook on the possibility of joining you in Lyon doesn’t look very good. In the middle of a project that requires my attention. Will be a last minute decesion. Andy, would you be so kind to deleting me from the dinner list, please.

lanetomlane Posted October 1, 2018 Share #140 Posted October 1, 2018 Well at least I've got the ferry booked. We're leaving Dover on Friday lunchtime and ambling down via who knows where. Aim to get to Lyon the following Friday afternoon in time for the pre-challenge drinks. Once someone has decided on a location I assume it'll be posted to the "WhatsApp" group. Looking forward to it. Cheers, Tom
