Hi Wilson,

The Nissin MG10 loaded with firmware v5 does make it compatible with Leics SF C1 Commander. I tried my unit and it works well together with my 2 units of SF60 operating in different groups so I can vary each flash intensity individually and make swapping change to all lights in one go through the Commander.

Hello Sillbeers15

Is HSS and TTL still operational?

On shutter speed of 1/250 sec and below, TTL & Manual works. On > 1/250 sec (the HSS sign appears on the display of the Commander), only TTL works.

Many thanks. At the moment Nissin UK is not selling the Flash on its own but only as a bundle with a Nikon or Canon Air10S. Strangely, Nissin Europe in the Netherlands is selling it separately, so I may have to buy from a Dutch dealer.

PS I have never been a big fan of HSS, finding it of limited use, so its absence would not be a huge spoiler. I always have the SF40 and 58 to fall back on, in the unlikely event of my wanting HSS. W

Hi Wilson,

HSS is as good as useless at shutter speed at 1/8000sec with a single speed light at noon time outdoors.

But in the event of combining two MG10s @ 340Ws can be useful. Or when you just need to be above the slow sync speed of 1/250sec at times when you need to bring down the background ambient light by 2 stops to pop your subject, HSS can become handy.

To clarify, MG10 (OCF) at 1/250+ is TTL only, no HSS - Despite HSS showing on display?

For SF40, SF60 & MG10 at camera shutter speeds > 1/250 sec, HSS shows on display of SF C1 Commander and works with only TTL mode. When switched over to Manual, the camera shutter release cannot work.

Help please...

I have some Godox TT600 speedlights and the Godox XiT Sony version transmitter which I have been triggering on my SL (and D810 before it) by a PC Sync Cord.

I decided to purchase the SFC1 transmitter but can’t seem to get the transmitter to fire the TT600s.... is this indeed possible??

Or do I just purchase a SF60 and optically slave the TT600s

Or is there a better speed light that can be triggered effectively by the SFC1

If your intention is just to set off whatever flash/strobe optically. The easiest method is to get any flash mounted on your M10 hotshoe and trigger. Tricky bit would’ve to ensure the burst of flash from your triggering flash must be in line of sight with your off camera flash/strobe’s optical sensor.

Now if you purchase the wireless radio trigger Leica offers called the SF C1, it can and only trigger the SF60 & Nissin’s MG10 loaded with the latest firmware MG10v5.

No you cannot trigger the Godox flash using SF C1 because the wireless control protocol is not compatible.

Unless you come to use your Godox in manual Mode with the help of a Pixel TF-322 below your C1 and on the camera and connect via its PC Sync the flashes you want to  trigger simultaneously  in manual mode with the SF 60 in TTL mode.

If I'm not wrong.

That's great news for using a reduced output for filling shadows in the eyes and for catch lights.

I'm considering a purchase of the SF 60. Does it allow you to adjust flash exposure compensation?

Hi all

i do use the sf60’s mostly when I do not want to carry my big profoto gear or when I want HSS.

it seems HSS only works in TTL. Does anybody know if it should work in M mode as well? (Both on the S(007) or the M10.
