35mm FLE 1.4: Use protective filter and lens hood at the same time

Hi,

as I tend to drop the provided flimsy lens cap oft the 35LTE everywhere and expect to lose it eventually, I was thinking of putting on a filter that protects the front element and forget about the cap. Still, I't like to use the provided lens hood for stray light and bump protection.

With the B+W 46mm thin line filter I tried, the outer diameter of the filter is just about 0.5mm too large, so I can't get the lens hood on anymore.

Any ideas which brand of high quality clear or haze filter might work?

As an alternative: Any better lens hood?

Thanks!

Works fine with B+W F-Pro filter.

I think the 'flimsy' lens (hood) cap is much more convenient than the pinch type, which would be really difficult to use with the hood on.

The earlier batches of this lens and hood had issues with fitting even a slim filter underneath. This was promptly fixed by Leica in later lenses. I would maybe ask a Leica dealer or their customer service if they are willing to fix the issue.
