Advertisement Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Hi mreddington, Take a look here NIK Collection Upgrade coming soon. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LocalHero1953 Posted June 1, 2018 Share #2 Posted June 1, 2018 Looks like this doesn't provide any new features, but just establishes them as DXO products.
wattsy Posted June 1, 2018 Share #3 Posted June 1, 2018 Happy to pay £40 if it means I can update my Photoshop without buggering up SFX.
LocalHero1953 Posted June 1, 2018 Share #4 Posted June 1, 2018 Happy to pay £40 if it means I can update my Photoshop without buggering up SFX. ???? I've updated LR & PS several times without affecting SFX.
andybarton Posted June 1, 2018 Share #5 Posted June 1, 2018 The plug-ins don't work properly on PSCS6 on the latest MacOSX £40 doesn't buy you any new features, but might get DXO out of bankruptcy
pedaes Posted June 1, 2018 Share #6 Posted June 1, 2018 Silver Efex Pro 2 seems to work ok with LR Classic 7.3.1 and High Sierra 10.13.

mreddington Posted June 1, 2018 Author Share #8 Posted June 1, 2018 Future MacOS versions will according to Apple only support 64Bit programs. I expect that the NIK applications have been updated in anticipation. It remains to be seen if there will be any new functionality.
wattsy Posted June 1, 2018 Share #9 Posted June 1, 2018 ???? I've updated LR & PS several times without affecting SFX. It actually might not have been SFX but possibly Sharpener Pro, which I use all the time. When I updated PS from 17.0.0 to something newer, I seem to recall that the previews no longer worked and I could only cure the problem by stepping back. I haven't tried any updates since because it is a pain to lose functionality when everything is currently working and I use PS every day for work.
andybarton Posted June 1, 2018 Share #10 Posted June 1, 2018 runs perfectly fine on 10.13.4...from inside LR / C1 and also standalone But not with Photoshop Just tried SFX and it will crash PS6 13.06 64bit, every time when saving the new layer.
wattsy Posted June 7, 2018 Share #11 Posted June 7, 2018 The "new" NIK is out. £33 (ex. VAT) seems a reasonable cost if they have fully debugged the software and made it properly compatible with the latest Mac oS and Photoshop 2018.
250swb Posted June 7, 2018 Share #12 Posted June 7, 2018 The "new" NIK is out. £33 (ex. VAT) seems a reasonable cost if they have fully debugged the software and made it properly compatible with the latest Mac oS and Photoshop 2018. But the 'old' free Nik from Google is compatible with Photoshop 2018? Copy and paste it into Plugins from the earlier version of PS.
marcg Posted June 7, 2018 Share #13 Posted June 7, 2018 I have just upgraded my NIK Collection. The first thing that happened is that they didn't send me any activation codes and although I have asked for support, I got no response at all and eventually I had to call somebody who said it wasn't her job and she gave me an email. I emailed them and got a reference number generated automatically but since then nothing. I installed the demo version and as Andrew Barton as suggested above, it is buggy, it crashes my Photoshop and various elements which were working perfectly before are now no longer working. My advice to people thinking of upgrading Nik collection is that they shouldn't risk it because it will destroy their old versions. If you don't have a copy already installed then by all means go ahead and install the demo version because there is nothing to damage – but you will probably find that some elements simply aren't working. So far it's complete rubbish – and their customer response is rubbish.
andybarton Posted June 7, 2018 Share #14 Posted June 7, 2018 I haven’t tried the new version. It’s the old version on PS13 that crashes for me under the current MacOS
zeitz Posted June 8, 2018 Share #15 Posted June 8, 2018 I just used Nik Silver Efex with Photoshop for a B&W conversion; it worked as normal. I am using a MacPro (late 2013), High Sierra 10.13.4 and Photoshop 19.1.4. The Nik Collection is Version 2.1.28 x64 (v1.2.11) downloaded from Google on 24 March 2016. tgdinamo Posted June 12, 2018 Share #16 Posted June 12, 2018 I'm very disappointed with DxO after purchasing this software. I assumed that without any doubt first DxO release of Nik Collection would at least integrate as plugin under DxO's own flagship PhotoLab software (as few other DxO products do). However it can only be used standalone, or integrated with Adobe products! What a waste of money.
