Not a denigrating comment about your photos, which are very good; but I hate these things. There are a bunch of guys that drive these contraptions around downtown Philly at night and add unwanted noise and traffic to our community. Maybe the ones in your neighborhood are muffled, but the ones here are 140 dB-plus nuisances.

Thank you Stuart.

brewer: Never heard when it was running, took the picture because it was different, definitely not for the "looks".

Bill W: I agree, it was different and "eye catching" as a "tow truck".

Thank you for commenting.

Is that much noise allowed over there?

When motorcycles (which this essentially is) are released from the factory they generally range from very quiet to relatively quiet.  Owners tend to make hyper-testosterone filled (or if hypo=testosterone, overcompensate for the lack) modifications to their bikes.

We encountered, but did not immediately recognize Elon Musk in Tennessee when a group exceptionally loud Harleys went by.  Musk said he was working on curing that.  Adding it up I realized it was Musk, suggesting a new, electrically driven product line

Depends.

In the city the trucks can't engine brake and you will be cited for a muffler/emissions misdemeanor if the police think you're in violation.

Out in the countryside anything goes.
