I'm not sure of anything except that I love my Q and would love one with the ability to use M lenses... Have my secret prayers been answered?

Oh... I don't care what they call it!

New Leica mirrorless camera to be announced in June (Leica C-M?)

I have no claims to any information. But if you look at the very bold statements at that site, namely:

  • Leica will announce a new mirrorless full frame camera which will be a link between the CL and the SL models
  • I expect the new model to be called Leica C-M (or Leica CM)
  • The new full frame camera will be based on a new sensor with outstanding low light high dynamic range capabilities
  • The official announcement will be made next month (June)

and follow its link for its "proof", that is certainly not what Dr. Kaufmann is saying. He is talking about developing the potential of the L mount while holding a TL2 and later saying that the future modification of the SL will be more refined. I just don't hear anything about a newly conceived camera. Please correct me if I'm wrong (hope I am!) What we do know is that there will be at least one or more interesting announcements scheduled for June 14.

Now, if it is true, my credit card will be out of my wallet the second I hear the announcement. But sorry, I just don't see the proof this site is offering for such a boldly stated claim. Fingers crossed, though, SonomaBear

Too good to be true?

What do you expect? All Leicas are heavy! My IIf (now IIIf) too.

But the problem is, that they tend to grow bigger and bigger.

Where are the collapsible lenses? I could carry my IIf in the pocket of my jacket.

The Hector 28mm was a step in the good direction. But now a Lux/Cron/Elmarit with that dimensions.

Great idea!! I would jump at a FF collapsible summicron with AF. I have absolutely no idea how that would would work from an engineering point of view, however.

A Q with interchangeable lens would be awesome, however I'd stick with my Q because I do not want to deal with bags, lenses and choices anymore.

Since I have the Q my life changed.

Less is more!

'Link between the CL and SL'

As if there is even a gap between them? The only thing this can be is an EVF Leica M... Impossible that they will release a camera to 'link' a C/TL and SL. There is no gap there, and there wont be another FF camera with AF from Leica. Where would this fit?

Could see an SL in future being smaller with some smaller lenses maybe but not another camera line.
