Variable ND Filter

Hello all!

I receive my Leica Q a few weeks ago and I'm trying to have find some reviews on Variable ND filters that works with Leica Q without vignette. It's difficult to find some consistent reviews on it.

I have the Lee filter 100 mm system with 49mm adaptor ring but it's not portable.

Any experience with following brands and models? Variable filter can be a problem with the Leica Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH Lens

B+W 49mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano Filter

Heliopan 49mm Variable Gray ND Filter

Singh-Ray 49mm Vari-N-Duo Variable Neutral Density and Warming Circular Polarizer Filter

Many thanks for any help.

Antonio

I have no experience with variable NDs, only the Lee little and big stoppers. At least you know exactly what the exposure factor is and so despite the lesser portability you know where you stand with the exposure. The benefit of the Lee system is also with the grads which you do not get with variable NDs. The other factor to bear in mind is white balance and certainly with the Lee stoppers I have found that 10,000 Kelvin was necessary to overcome the blue cast. Probably not the most helpful of responses but just my two pence/cents worth!
