stuny Posted May 18, 2018 Share #4 Posted May 18, 2018 (BTW: I like it) I think I know what happened because it has happened to me and I sometimes liked the results - the shutter speed was slower than you thought, and/or something startled you when you shot.
Louis Posted May 18, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted May 18, 2018 (BTW: I like it) I think I know what happened because it has happened to me and I sometimes liked the results - the shutter speed was slower than you thought, and/or something startled you when you shot. I am just having fun posting this shot. It was very dark and handheld. Actually, I was looking for this result; I made a few of them for fun.
Bill W Posted May 19, 2018 Share #6 Posted May 19, 2018 And no alcohol was involved in this work.....
euston Posted May 19, 2018 Share #7 Posted May 19, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) It works for me, Louis. It does no harm to experiment. When the composition is pleasing and the colours are attractive, it can't fail to make an interesting picture.
stuny Posted May 21, 2018 Share #8 Posted May 21, 2018 It looks like much of the movement is associated with pressing the shutter button.
Louis Posted May 21, 2018 Author Share #9 Posted May 21, 2018 It looks like much of the movement is associated with pressing the shutter button. Handheld in a dark night!
samwells Posted May 21, 2018 Share #10 Posted May 21, 2018 Yes, I like that…as if Whistler had used a camera instead of a paintbrush (cf 'Nocturne in Black and Gold'?)
Louis Posted May 21, 2018 Author Share #11 Posted May 21, 2018 Yes, I like that…as if Whistler had used a camera instead of a paintbrush (cf 'Nocturne in Black and Gold'?) Sam, thank you very much. I was having fun, trying to create blurs that would give a kind of paintings or abstract images. Here is another one with Leica CL + Nikkor 28 mm, f/3.5. Welcome, dear visitor! FrancoisF Posted May 21, 2018 Share #12 Posted May 21, 2018 (edited) This second one is unbelievable! It's a Renoir! Experimenting has its rewards! Edited May 21, 2018 by FrancoisF
erl Posted May 22, 2018 Share #13 Posted May 22, 2018 It matters not how you achieved it. The result is worthwhile. I like both pics, for different reasons. I have a number of images of that sort myself (dancers) but lack the courage to post them. I applaud you effort and willingness to share a (successful) experiment. Both would frame well.

jmahto Posted June 1, 2018 Share #16 Posted June 1, 2018 And no alcohol was involved in this work..... Nope.. certainly no alcohol... else the sharp zig zag lines would have been smoother.
Alberti Posted June 11, 2018 Share #17 Posted June 11, 2018 I must also say that the colours of the river walk are tremendous (is that a sonnar signature?)
