They will always be a different size (larger) than the raw file. You can select how big the jpegs are when taken. They are processed in camera. Not sure if this is what you are asking.

Bill, that was not always the case so it's something I must have done. It's not about file size but image size.

You have probably inadvertently set the sensor format to APSC, so it is being cropped when viewed as a JPG. The DNG remains unchanged. 

 

I spent the whole day doing this once and was mighty confused till I checked the menu settings.

Thank you, that worked. As a matter of interest what photo aspect ratio do you prefer?
