youngjohn Posted May 9, 2018 Share #1 Posted May 9, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Posted this in the TL section a day ago but haven’t had any response. Hoping for some feedback here. Just bought a second hand 11-23 zoom and there's a tiny (and it is tiny) bit of 'wobble' or play on the front section when it is fully extended. Is this normal? Just checking because I can return it if it's not up to spec. I know some lenses are like this, Olympus Pro zooms all seem to be pretty wobbly with no effect at all on the images. Thanks. Advertisement Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 Hi youngjohn, Take a look here 11-23 Wobble. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
eraydinc Posted May 9, 2018 Share #2 Posted May 9, 2018 You should check this problem with Leica service because 11-23 TL is absolutely super-solid lens.
airscrew Posted May 9, 2018 Share #3 Posted May 9, 2018 I do have very slight wobble on my 11-23, think it is normal.
youngjohn Posted May 10, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted May 10, 2018 I got a reply today from Jimmy Hughes at Leica Mayfair and he said that his display sample had a slight wobble also.
Jared Posted May 13, 2018 Share #5 Posted May 13, 2018 Mine does the same. Image quality is still exceptional on my sample.
youngjohn Posted May 17, 2018 Author Share #6 Posted May 17, 2018 Thanks for the replies. Managed to find a copy which is better, with virtually no play so I’ve sent the other one back, although I must admit that it did not have any impact on the image quality which was superb.
