TheWizard Posted May 9, 2018 Share #1 Posted May 9, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have had my Leica M8 for about a month now and I couldn't be happier. The images are so sharp it blows my mind. The black and white conversions in photoshop have a great organic feel to them. I am using basically 3 lenses, the Voigtlander Color Skoper 25mm, the Ziess Biogon 35mm and the Lieca 50mm Summarit. The color pops at you before you even do anything in Photoshop or Camera Raw. My only regret is that I wasted so many years without one of these beautiful cameras. This is a great option for me from my usual Lieca film cameras and the only Nikon that even comes close to this sensor is my Nikon D70s CCD sensor, but the M8 takes the prize. I have only been using ISO 320 so far but going to try higher numbers to see what I get. Art

lct Posted May 10, 2018 Share #3 Posted May 10, 2018 I had the same feeling about my M8.2 being close to my D70. Both with thin sensor stack but also with moiré issues from time to time. The D70 needs less IR filtration though but it does not reach the same acutance as the M8.2 which keeps one of the best IQ available IMHO.

Raid Amin Posted May 13, 2018 Share #5 Posted May 13, 2018 The M8 is an excellent camera overall. I like to use it paired with an M9. The two cameras complement each other.
tobey bilek Posted June 16, 2018 Share #6 Posted June 16, 2018 M8 has an undeserved bad reputation.
david strachan Posted June 16, 2018 Share #7 Posted June 16, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Good camera. Liked them so much bought two....rare for me. Only bought an M-P to have live view, and use of excellent Nikkor zooms, and macro stuff, etc. (However FF is addictive) Best about M8...uses central part of lens...no smears or drop-off, or coloured edges. Noise problem grossly overblown. all best..
