marcg Posted May 3, 2018 Share #1 Posted May 3, 2018 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm so happy. Leica are apparently releasing a new "Vegan" version of the M 10 camera. At first glance it seems another Leica M more, but in reality it is a unique model in the history of this legendary photographic company: its first vegan camera. Always attentive to the fashions and trends of the market, it seems that Leica wants to seduce also the most aware public that has not only eliminated animal products from its diet, but also from the products that it buys.Read more: https://leicarumors.com/2018/04/01/coming-soon-leica-m10-vegan-limited-edition-camera.aspx/#ixzz5EQmd0uoQ This is great news. What a socially responsible company Leica are. I feel that I may have to start a new thread to discuss what is the best leather bag to put it in. Maybe Thorsten can give us some advice. brill64 Posted May 3, 2018 Share #2 Posted May 3, 2018 I think this was an April 1st prank as it was released on April 1st. Nice idea, though..
Mark II Posted May 3, 2018 Share #3 Posted May 3, 2018 I am still waiting for their vegetarian lens lineup. All they have to do is omit the (IMO fairly useless) lens cases...

M11 for me Posted May 3, 2018 Share #6 Posted May 3, 2018 I think that the vegan version is anyway standard since long time: That black cover is only a leather imitation and not real. So it is correct to use that term for it. Otherwise it could happen that people would eat their M bodies.

ejamgochian Posted May 6, 2018 Share #11 Posted May 6, 2018 (edited) Sadly, not all that far-fetched in a world where Ilford feels the need for an “advice for vegans” FAQ: https://www.ilfordphoto.com/faqs/advice-vegans-faqs/?___store=ilford_brochure Edited May 6, 2018 by ejamgochian
jdlaing Posted May 6, 2018 Share #12 Posted May 6, 2018 That’s only applicable if you eat it.
