Hello everyone. New guy saying hello. I have a question. I have 50mm sumicron DR but after looking closely at it glass look little milky. I’m not sure if it’s fungus or just dirty. Is it worth it to have it clean? Is it even possible?

May simply be haze (outgassibg of the lubricant and depostion onto the glass surfaces) this is not always removable but worth having someone skilled look at it.

I've had a couple of Summicrons of DR vintage cleaned of haze, and it is well worth it. (An earlier collapsible was not so successful.)

I had a cosmetically perfect 35 Summicron v.1 serviced by Don Goldberg and despite several expert attempts, haze remained.

Thanks guys. I'll try to post few photos but i need to downsize them. I think I'll send it for cleaning anyway. Other than haze this lens is pristine. Very smooth focusing and no oils etc on aperture blades. Is it true that AR coating on this lens is super soft? I cleaned lenses before including taking them apart but I read somewhere that this sumicrons are very fragile and require some special equipment for cleaning optics.
