Metering the Monochrom CCD

I'm going to be shooting with a M9M (ccd) and 28mm Elmarit and 50mm Lux (pre). I understand that the metering is center weighted and plan on using the center weight as a big spot meter and applying the zone system. Can other Monochrom users share their techniques? I've also read to shoot the Monochrom like slide film so as to not blow the highlights. Underexposing seems a good idea. Thanks.

Yes you are right, expose like slide film.

Not to be surprise, I use mainly in manual.

Then histogrammes would help if tricky lighting, or bracketting (in this case, MM takes time to write on SD card = old technologie seen here).

After a while of using it, histogrammes become unnecessary.

If in doubt, underexpose that's my Monochrom use.

Recovery of "shadow" is fine in most cases.
