There are numerous ways to get there.  Any of the 180/2.8 Nikkors are excellent lenses.  I occasionally use mine with an adaptor and get fine results.  And it's an early version, the later ED versions are even better.  I also use the ex-Minolta 70-210/4-R lens, itself a fine performer even by today's standards.  Then there's the 135/4 T-E or its immediate predecessor f/4 Elmar.  Both outstanding lenses, and their performance as well as the Leica's sensor can hold up to 180mm FOV cropping easily.  The commonality between all those are high performance at bargain-basement price, which is a criterion for me in a lens that sees only occasional use.

how did this turn out ? which lens did you get ? how do you like it ?

Got a 180/3.4 with APO TC. Haven't tested it yet fully but few snaps looks fine and sharp First I bought a cheap Adaptor from Amazon, infinity focus wasnt possible so now have Novoflex one and it works perfectly.
