I've photographed his old Communards sidekick (Richard Coles) many times with assorted VIP's at Northampton University where he is the Chancellor.  Can't post any images here  due to Copyright and Nikon dslrs!

Consciously underexposed... so as to be able to discern either the sailor from the sea or the cloud from the sky.
