I have just rediscovered a couple of rolls of HP5+ which I shot in 1998, developed and filed away. They are of a trip to London I took on our wedding anniversary, but have never printed. As far as I can remember/guess they were taken with a Leica M3 and 50mm Summicron f2 but I have no idea what I processed them in. I have now scanned them, and they are mainly of Pearly Kings and Queens arriving for the traditional Harvest Festival service at the church of St. Martins-in-the-Fields which is on trafalgar Square, London. Here is just 4 as a taster (the first one also shows a Chelsea Pensioner)

Great series. What a delight to to 're-live' some of your old pics.

# 1 is definitely the pic of the bunch because of the engagement between the two subjects.

I am currently delving into my own past, consisting of at least 23,000 rolls of film. Where to start? I know I will never finish. I'm just 'cherry picking' at random.

Firstly, thanks for your very kind comments.

I think the only advice I can give is to make sure you do whole sheets, edit and then scan as if you were never going back to them. After that I am finding that one thing leads to another (e.g. I scanned some Paris images and that then inspired me to look for other Paris images with the idea of maybe a book although I doubt that will ever come to fruition). The 'Pearly' series are particularly poignant for me as I realised they were taken on my wedding anniversary which bought back many memories of my wife who passed away 4 years ago.

Good luck - and then of course there are the transparencies!

What a delight it is to find such remarkably beautiful images of correct exposure and tack-sharp focus on here today.

I can only wonder: is there anyplace in the world today that such innocent and charming play-acting still goes on? It seems to be long-gone from America . . . sadly.

Please share more of your abundant talent with us in the future, Gerry.

Thank you.

You are very kind Allan. I have been sharing my "abundant talent" (if only!) here for some time, but you may also care to look at my b&w street photography at https://gerrywalden.smugmug.com/B-W-Street-Images
