michaelbogdan Posted April 16, 2018 Share #1 Posted April 16, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone here used thedarkroom.com? I was thinking about sending my film out to them, but after looking at the examples of the standard scans on their website, I’m having second thoughts. I’d love to see actual results for standard, enhanced, and super scan if anyone has. Thanks!
Advertisement Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Hi michaelbogdan, Take a look here Film scanning from thedarkroom.com. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lukeadair Posted April 16, 2018 Share #2 Posted April 16, 2018 They are only about 25 miles from where I live. Their work is okay, but I think you can do better if your standards are higher than "satisfactory." You might check out Richard Photo Lab (Google it). In my opinion, Richard is a very high cut above The Darkroom. Also, I might say that if you live in the vicinity of The Darkroom, do not think of just dropping in with your film in hand. They do not like in-store visitors (though rumor has it that they are getting better about this). Just not very pleasant people, really. I would show you some samples of work I've had done there, but my only film camera these days is a Rolleiflex, and this is the Leica Forum! zoe Posted April 16, 2018 Share #3 Posted April 16, 2018 I have no complaints with darkroom. I use them sometimes. the standard scans are free and are ok for the internet. if I print something I usually scan it on my plustex at home. I guess for the money they offer a pretty good value.
