Guest Nowhereman Posted April 8, 2018 Share #1 Posted April 8, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) The current Lightroom Classic CC 7.3 update has major problems. It crashes frequently as discussed on the Adobe Forums, and also has problems with VSCO presets. I've had both of these problems and decided to roll back to v7.2. Adobe has recognized the problems, and I'll either wait until these are solved before trying v7.3 again, or shall simply wait for v7.4 before trying to upgrade again. You can read the article on v7.3 by Thom Hogan, which raises other issues, but doesn't deal with these two problems, before deciding if you're interest at all in this upgrade. Please be so kind as to limit discussion in this thread of problems with v7.3 and solutions that may emerge. There are other threads in which you can vent your feelings about Adobe and it's policies. _______________ Alone in Bangkok essay on BURN Magazine Nowhereman Instagram

Overgaard Posted April 8, 2018 Share #4 Posted April 8, 2018 (edited) Yes, Lightroom CC Classic 7.3 has several problems: 1) User presets from previously seem to have been altered. 2) Importing hires JPG files will result in altered colors (for unknown reasons, seems to be when you use any sort of User Presets on import, and sometimes LR adds +1 exposure by itself!); but if you RESET the file, the colors as in the original JPG comes back. 3) Errors on reading files (says file seems to be damaged and it shows digital errors in DEVELOP mode). I recommend downgrading to LR 7.2 which can be done this way in a few minutes: "How to downgrade Lightroom Classic 7.3 to Lightroom Classic 7.2" Edited April 8, 2018 by Overgaard
andybarton Posted April 8, 2018 Share #5 Posted April 8, 2018 You can no longer copy development settings from one file and paste them to another. But, the dehaze slider has turned up. So that's good.
Guest Nowhereman Posted April 9, 2018 Share #6 Posted April 9, 2018 In the original post, I wrote that v7.3 had problems with VSCO presets. Actually, the problems are much broader, apparently affecting any presets in various ways, as explained in this article. A web search for "Lightroom Classic CC 7.3 problems", yields many articles. I hope that anyone who finds solutions for the extensive v7.3 problems, or fixes issued by Adobe, will post that information here.
LocalHero1953 Posted April 9, 2018 Share #7 Posted April 9, 2018 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) From the sound of it, v7.4 will be needed. 7.3 sounds broken. Edited April 9, 2018 by LocalHero1953

Genn Posted April 18, 2018 Share #10 Posted April 18, 2018 I got a significant problem with new update - I can not synchronise my editing from cloud back to desktop. There is no any link between cloud version and desktop one any more. Sad news.

Exodies Posted April 18, 2018 Share #12 Posted April 18, 2018 I upload my pics to iPad, import to LR mobile on iPad. LR classic on desktop makes a local copy from the cloud. Edits on either iPad or desktop are distributed everywhere. This is still the case with LR 7.
Guest Nowhereman Posted April 18, 2018 Share #13 Posted April 18, 2018 Exodus - Maybe that's interesting for you, but it has nothing to so with the subject of this thread.
Exodies Posted April 18, 2018 Share #14 Posted April 18, 2018 Sync between cloud, local storage, LR mobile and LR Classic of edits done on iPad or desktop is what I’m talking about. If Glenn has a different sync in mind then I have no idea what it can be.

I'm using Lr Classic CC 7.3 on Desktop and lightroom.adobe.com on iPad. Even sync symbol at the left of each previously synced collection name in Lr Classic CC is lost. Genn Posted April 20, 2018 Share #17 Posted April 20, 2018 Jeff, thanks. I see that my issue is somehow connected with current battle for digital freedom between Telegram chat service and Russian Government Agency for Telecommunications. 18 M IPs of amazon and google are blocked, and Adobe uses amazon IP's for creative cloud connections. Well, that is another limitation that shall be used to grow my artistic skills.
hoppyman Posted April 20, 2018 Share #18 Posted April 20, 2018 I installed the updates both for Photoshop CC and Lightroom Classic CC. I haven't had any crash in first few hundred images edited. I was getting crashes when going out to PS from Lightroom Classic CC before the updates. My existing custom presets were successfully converted to XMP. So for first day of editing, for my hardware it is working 100%
hoppyman Posted April 20, 2018 Share #19 Posted April 20, 2018 (edited) The dehaze slider was already available in v7.2. Andy is correct that he has just now seen the dehaze slider though. In 7.3 it was moved from the Effects Panel to the Basic Panel in the Develop Module. Now it is always visible whereas in the previous version it was hidden away unless you actually use the Effects Panel (At least I don't and that's always been closed in my settings) Edited April 20, 2018 by hoppyman
