myuen888 Posted April 4, 2018 Share #1 Posted April 4, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Did you have to re-calibrate the rangefinder of your M10 to get optimal focus accuracy from the Noctilux .95?

rent Posted April 4, 2018 Share #2 Posted April 4, 2018 Mine appears to be spot on without need for calibration.

pkwok Posted April 7, 2018 Share #10 Posted April 7, 2018 I may be the unlucky one. The focus is definitely not spot-on in my M10-0.95 combo. The image with visoflex is sharp, there is focus shift using RF. I suppose my M10 needs some calibration. However, the image with 50mm Summilux is OK. Guest Posted April 7, 2018 Share #11 Posted April 7, 2018 (edited) Spot on here as well. Bill Are you still using your M10 now that you have the X1D.........and with the Noctilux are you using EVF or RF?? Bill W Posted April 7, 2018 Share #12 Posted April 7, 2018 Yes I still use my M10. I hate to admit that I have two of them one in each finish. I also hate to admit that I have way too much camera stuff but I really enjoy it. I never use the live view on my M10's, only the RF. I do not wear glasses so it is not really a problem focusing. My X1D made a trip to Sweden for an issue but seems to be ok now.

I keep having these urges to go out and buy a M10 but worry it will end up in the dry box 24/7 after I get bored with it. Like you I have way to many cameras, but every time I see my Noctilux sitting in the dry box I get the urge to get a body for it.......hopefully we will get busy tonight so that I can forget about these distracting thoughts :) Neil
myuen888 Posted April 7, 2018 Author Share #14 Posted April 7, 2018 (edited) Hi All, Thank-you very much for responding to my question. Currently I use the Noct .95 with the SL and focusing is always spot on at widest aperture. I have been thinking of getting the M10 as I like its color rendering slightly better than the SL, but worry its calibration for focusing accuracy with very narrow depth of field. I don't usually shoot fast moving objects, so I can take my time to focus carefully. I have owned and used the M3 and M6, so my skills using the rangefinder is okay. -Mike Edited April 7, 2018 by myuen888

I have had every one since the M8 which was a learning experience for everyone that bought one and Leica as well. That was actually how I got me first Noctilux. Because of the issues with the initial launching of the M8 every purchaser got free UVIR filters and a 30% discount on your choice of an M lens. I bought my Noctilux for I believe $2,700. Alistairm Posted April 7, 2018 Share #16 Posted April 7, 2018 My M240 has to be adjusted for my Notcilux but the M10 is spot on. I also have an X1D. The Noctilux vignettes heavily on it and works much better on the M.
