Some of us would like to see Leica revising and extending the Tri-Elmar concept - ...  very useful for hiking and travelling.  { WATE & MATE }

Whether the new Vario-Elmar-M will go into series production is not yet clear ( *... ).

With the introduction of system cameras with 'real-time image display' and electronic viewfinder, the proven Visoflex housing with M bayonet can be omitted if required.

The use of E. Leitz Visoflex components is a weight-, volume- and cost-optimized alternative:

APO-Extender-M (155g) with extension ring (57g) = 212g )

Depending on the variant of the focus unit used, the total weight is 725g or 883g.
The OROLF is too heavy and bulky for me. (;-)

The intermediate spacer/ring with integrated tripod mount (No.16466(Y)/OUBIO) is useful for using the APO-Extender-M.

In the post 'What comes after...' I mentioned the complementary continuation of the new product range VISOFLEX-EVF and current 'Macro-Adapter-M' (14652).

Example of use: At the left front the 'model of a focus mount with M bayonet' as a replacement for one or two 'high value' Macro-Adapter-M (14652).

Thorsten,

I'm looking at the 'model of a focus mount with M bayonet' and am wondering how you interfaced the Leitz "Adapter A" 39mm to the Leitz 16464 (33mm x 0.7mm pitch)?  Did you modify a 16471 adapter with a 39mm female?

Best Regards,

Rick

Hello Rick,

correctly recognized.

Here you will find detailed pictures (&) and notes on the application with the corresponding order designation.    (German language part of the forum.)

I think the focusing device16462 (optimized) #14-2 is more robust and therefore also gets an adapter to M39 / Adapter " A ".

Just recently this brings me back to an older consideration that also looks very satisfying.

Design  (2012) digital CL camera with full format sensor... (;-) - The S. A7C camera shows that it works!

In this case, the Flicker-Free View with TO-M   -  an extension ring ~14,4mm and ring No. 16471... ( (;-) perfect)
