saptarshi Posted March 26, 2018 Share #1 Posted March 26, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello Maybe this has been asked in some fashion before. The other day I was taking a photo of my friend who was below a flashing light. The flashing light caused the exposure to change. I am shooting in auto exposure mode (not sure what the name is, but exposure length is computed). What I would have liked is an AE lock button to hold the exposure, and then recompose a bit. I know I could have recorded the value of the exposure I wanted and used full manual mode but that’s a few more steps than pressing an AE lock button (like the Fuji). Pressing the shutter release button halfway and recomposing works in manual lens setup (the m10 and m7) but doesn’t work in the autofocus setup (the TL2). Yes I could switch to manual focus but I really would like to use the autofocus of the TL2 lenses! So now that I have defended my need is there a hidden way to set one button (say the video buttton) as AE lock? Thanks!

saptarshi Posted March 26, 2018 Author Share #2 Posted March 26, 2018 Oh I should point out I use the visoflex, so would rather not move my eye away from it
cdekter Posted March 27, 2018 Share #3 Posted March 27, 2018 In my experience the camera does lock the exposure when you half press the shutter, in any mode.
