Wrist strap without multi-function grip

Assuming you mean a hand strap? A wrist strap lets the camera dangle a hand strap doesn't. Anything that fits the tripod screw will work as a hand strap. There are a few around. For a wrist strap Rapid strap is the most obvious, or Gordys.

I do but Leica calls theirs a wrist strap.

The SpiderPro Hand Strap feels quite comfortable and fits very well.

I like the SpiderPro too. It's very comfortable and customizable. But it's a little fiddly to install and detach, and isn't (yet) compatible with a tripod plate.

The screw that came with the Spider Pro (or with mine anyway) was strangely too long for the 1/4-20 screw hole on the S to secure the base. In fact the screw hole on the S seems to be unusually shallow. I ended up having to get a bunch of washers at the hardware store, and then I found a defective (truncated) screw.

For me SpiderPro is splendid . I just use a trpidpod quick release or a RRS L plate to secure it. Whithout using the accessory provided.

I use it with the RRS L-Bracket for the S.

I have been using the Peak Design hand strap. It attaches to the neck strap lug at one end, and to the tripod socket at the other.

While it certainly looks worryingly weak, it has held-up quite well.

Agreed, I love the easy on and off and use the Peak Designs on my M’s as well. Seems to pack better with the straps off, and I got tired of using ring pliers to take straps on and off...
