evikne Posted June 3, 2018 Share #101 Posted June 3, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) The one reason not to use any 50 mm Noctilux as an everyday lens is neither size nor weight but minimum focusing distance. They all (including the latest Noctilux-M 50 mm 1:0.95 Asph) will focus down to 1 m only but in an everyday lens I'd want 0.7 m. Yes, that is the biggest disadvantage with the Noctilux. But when I need to get closer, I have the 75mm Summilux!
Advertisement Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Hi evikne, Take a look here Struggling to find "My" 50mm.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
fsprow Posted June 3, 2018 Share #102 Posted June 3, 2018 I suggest your images will give you the answer. Make a few fairly large prints from each "candidate" 50mm lens and the answer will either be evident or you will conclude it doesn't really make much difference (I'd bet this way!).
