rustig Posted March 10, 2018 Share #1 Posted March 10, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I was looking for an Elmar (II) 9cm 1:4 because of it's reasonable price and found one for only 75 euro. The seller informed me that there will be some fog inside the lens and that this can be cleaned. If its fog or fungus would the price be right or should I just skip this one and look for the next? Thanks, Mike
Advertisement Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 Hi rustig, Take a look here Elmar (II) 9cm w/ fog. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
spydrxx Posted March 11, 2018 Share #2 Posted March 11, 2018 If the dealer is being super honest and the fog is really light, it could be a reasonable purchase. I got one a couple of years ago which was fog/haze free for about $90 USD and it has been a terrific performer. There are usually 4-5 on the big auction site for about that sum, so if I was you, I'd check out the marketplace and ask questions before plunking down my hard earned cash.
TomB_tx Posted March 11, 2018 Share #3 Posted March 11, 2018 Youxin Ye just cleaned the internal haze from a collapsible 90 for me, and it turned out great - big improvement in images. I've just sent him a 1937 version with the same issue to see how it turns out.
