40 mm is nice like on my very small compact Rollie, forget the model exactly.

No frame line make it not on my list.  Even if there is an external one.

Just my cranky old opinion, sorry

Did have a CV 40 1.4 many years ago which I sold in favor of a 40 Lux.

I think the CV 40 1.2 would be a great lens for a Leica with a EVF, but on an M9 with 35/50 frame lines options, I would think the CV 35 1.2 or the CV 35 1.7 would be better options. Plus the bokeh on the 35 1.2 is fantastic. A little bit of cropping, which one will do often, would still give you a 40.

What's a 40 Lux?

Common...

how about  M240-M10 crowd slapping SLR and who knows what else lenses on and using Live View.

And OP is asking specifically for M9, where 35 frame lines are actually 40mm lines.

BTW, I didn't owned Rollei 35 twice. One MiG, one MiS. Cute and camera with very un-informative film advance.

I was often keep on crunching on the last frame.

I agree.  No frame lines = no buy.
