bags27 Posted May 2, 2018 Share #101 Posted May 2, 2018 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) A rather "green" shot on a very grey and hazy day, with my newly acquired Nikkor 105mm/f2.5 LTM lens. It is certainly very sharp and is obviously quite high micro contrast as the focus peaking is very evident even wide open. It will make a very nice addition to my LTM lens portfolio, as it is much more a lens to carry around than my very heavy 85mm/f1.5 Summarex. Wilson Q owner thinking of doing the same: CL + my vintage Nikkors with a Nikon to L adapter. Question: looks like you have an M to T adaptor on the camera. Is that because in front of it is a Nikon F to Leica M adaptor? If so, does stacking adaptors affect picture quality? thanks. wlaidlaw Posted May 5, 2018 Share #102 Posted May 5, 2018 (edited) Q owner thinking of doing the same: CL + my vintage Nikkors with a Nikon to L adapter. Question: looks like you have an M to T adaptor on the camera. Is that because in front of it is a Nikon F to Leica M adaptor? If so, does stacking adaptors affect picture quality? thanks. This Nikkor-P lens is from way before the days of the Nikon F. It is from the early days of Nippon Kogaku company in the early 1950's, when they made lenses in both Leica Screw Thread (M39) and in Contax bayonet fit but not actually compatible with Contax. This is a similar but reverse scenario to the Russian LTM lenses. The Nikkor Contax fit lenses use the Leica thread pitch in their focus helicoid but in a left hand direction, so do not focus properly on Contax cameras. Russian LTM lenses use the Contax pitch thread but in right hand, which again is why they don't focus correctly on Leica cameras. The reason the Russians used Contax thread pitch is because they removed much of the lens making machinery from Zeiss in Jena in 1945/46, then in the Russian occupation zone and used it to turn out the Jupiter series of LTM lenses and using the same optical cells, also the bayonet lenses for their Kiev Contax copies. The new Russian made 50mm/f1.5 Lomography Jupiter lens has been corrected and focuses properly on a Leica but of course, will not now focus correctly on a Russian rangefinder. Wilson PS in addition to the M adapter T, I am using a Kippon LTM to Leica M adapter ring. These are not cheap but are one of the few rings that does not bring up the "no lens detected" message. I ran a micrometer over the Kippon ring and it was parallel to within the limits of my 1 micron digital micrometer (actually accurate to +/- 2 microns). wlaidlaw Posted June 11, 2018 Share #107 Posted June 11, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Cloudscape with CL and 1952 Summarex 8.5cm/f1.5, with UTOOV dark red filter. I tried to do it in false colour but I could not get the white balance using the grey card facility to play ball. This facility works well on the M240 to take false colour photos with intense coloured filters but the CL make everything puke yellow, after taking a grey card reading, so the image is in black and white. ramarren Posted June 8, 2019 Share #115 Posted June 8, 2019 (edited) I have one of the much maligned Leica Hektor 135mm f/4.5 lenses about 1960 vintage. I got it for $170 some years ago. I saw this thread come up again today and thought I'll pull it out and do a couple of test shots. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Leica CL using Hektor 135mm f/4.5 @ f/5.6, hand-held Full rez image files: ISO 6400:https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48021919973_a20f616a54_o.jpg ISO 12500: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48021895291_709f4bc28f_o.jpg I dunno... For a lens that is often said to be as sharp as a Coke bottle bottom, it sure makes nice photographs on the CL. enjoy! tommonego@gmail.com Posted June 10, 2019 Share #116 Posted June 10, 2019 1959 85mm f2 Nikkor, Leica screw Mt, via M39 screw to M mount adaptor, them M-L adaptor on CL. Somehow I used this lens a lot when I was using M bodies, now I like my 90 Elmarit better on the CL, mostly because then f stop ring rotates with the focus. Fertilizing a Corn Field, yes it is what you think, didn't want to get any closer. Welcome, dear visitor!
