jaapv Posted February 12, 2018 Share #1 Posted February 12, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) But does it have its sensor changed? I guess it will make this price too. BTW. the seller is a thoroughly reliable Leica Store... https://www.ebay.com/itm/PERSONALLY-SIGNED-LEICA-M9-SYLVESTER-STALLONE-EDITION-USED-IN-EXPENDABLES-2/302566230067?hash=item46725a4833:g:AA8AAOSwP4FaM7mx
Advertisement Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Hi jaapv, Take a look here A 15.000 $ M9. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Robert M Poole Posted February 12, 2018 Share #2 Posted February 12, 2018 I'm just imaging the scene in the film... Stallone raises the M9 to his eye. Takes a series of surveillance photos. Whats this blinking red light? Co-star... "it's an M9, the buffer is full, you'll have to wait a minute." Stallone checks the images, "wow, all the noise on these files". Co-star... "it's an M9, best sticking to ISO 160 really..." Stallone: "OK, so I have it set to ISO 160, I'm taking single images at a time, what are these black dots all over the files?" Co-star... "it's an M9, have you had the sensor swapped?" FADE TO BLACK 12 WEEKS LATER Stallone, "right, I have it set to ISO 160, I'm taking single images at a time, I've sent it off to Wetzler... now to capture some video". Co-star... "it's an M9..."
Herr Barnack Posted February 12, 2018 Share #3 Posted February 12, 2018 (edited) $15k for an M9 used by Stallone in "The Expendables?"    That rates 15,000 LMAO faces. However - in the interest of brevity I will post only nine. Edited February 12, 2018 by Herr Barnack
Deliberate1 Posted February 12, 2018 Share #4 Posted February 12, 2018 Were I Leica, I would prefer that my camera be associated with a movie titled something other than "Expendables."
mmradman Posted February 12, 2018 Share #5 Posted February 12, 2018 Adding sales tax (VAT?) at 21% on second hand camera sucks.
Rus Posted February 13, 2018 Share #6 Posted February 13, 2018 (edited) A camera touched by a star... yes. A camera touched by a star in a classic piece of cinema? No. By the same token, how much will all the new toilet seats used by Madonna for each of her concerts over the years fetch? This sort of “legacy” stuff strikes me as a bit too random. But Leica isn’t known for being scrupulous about sanctioning this sort of ‘special editions’ anyway. Edited February 13, 2018 by Rus
earleygallery Posted February 13, 2018 Share #7 Posted February 13, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) It says the camera is signed but it's not, there's a signed card with the camera. Some fool might buy it but the fact they've even had to advertise it means there's clearly not too much interest (I'm sure most dealers have a list of customers who they would contact when something 'special' comes in).
rramesh Posted February 18, 2018 Share #8 Posted February 18, 2018 I guess it's a Lisse desirable expendable edition.
LichtUndDunkelheit Posted February 18, 2018 Share #9 Posted February 18, 2018 Why the complaints ? Thats a totally normal price for a collectible, isnt it ?
jaapv Posted February 18, 2018 Author Share #10 Posted February 18, 2018 Some would argue that it is not really collectable.
Archiver Posted February 19, 2018 Share #11 Posted February 19, 2018 I believe that when this first emerged on the market, it was Sylvester Stallone's brother who was selling it. I seem to recall the brother had done this with a number of other 'used by Stallone' movie props.
farnz Posted March 1, 2018 Share #12 Posted March 1, 2018 The text in the ad says it was used by Sylvester Stallone in "The Expandables 2". Perhaps expandables translates to 'inflatable prices'. Pete.
mikemgb Posted March 1, 2018 Share #13 Posted March 1, 2018 I was once in the business of selling DVDs, the packs of photographs signed by movie stars are not that uncommon, they are often released as part of a "Special Edition" box set at vastly inflated prices, I believe I still have some Jean Claude Van Damme sets floating around somewhere.
