jerrab Posted February 1, 2018 Share #45 Posted February 1, 2018 As you may know from time to time we are conducting tests on behalf of Leica Camera: About 20-50 members try out new firmware, software, apps and sometimes even new cameras like the new Leica CL. We are always looking for participants owning the corresponding cameras and having field experience who are able to provide constructive feedback. The Leica Forum is a great repository: We have a great range of Leica photographers using all current (and not-so-current) systems, from all over the world and especially with a lot of experience Until now we searched the forum for suitable members, discussing the topic of the test. Meanwhile the requests by Leica and other companies are getting more and more special, for example regarding software. Now we need your help to find suitable testers for these cases too: Interested in becoming a tester? Are you interested in participating in tests? Then fill out these data fields in your account profile: Interested in becoming a Leica beta-tester?Of course we only want to address you if you are interested...In which country do you live?Sometimes we need tester only from a special country. Please ignore the PLZ field, the postcode is only relevant for German members. Which current Leica Cameras do you own?To test a new firmware you have to own the relevant camera - sorry no lending by Leica...We are asking here only for current cameras published in the last few years as there will be no tests of older models. What kind of experience do you have as photographer? In some tests we are looking for the feedback by professional photographers, sometimes from beginners or from a broader range of experience. Thus your self-assessment helps us to find the right testers.Which operating systems are you using? As we are testing desktop software (i.e. Leica Image Shuttle) as well as mobile apps, we need to know if you are using Mac or Windows, Apple iOS or Android.Have you got an Apple ID or Google Account?Test software is sometimes provided via the app stores of Apple or Google, thus we need to know if you have a corresponding account. Of course all these information are confidential: They are not visible in your profile and we'll never forward it to other parties. The only purpose is to identify, if you are a suitable tester for given test scenario. So – if you are interested to test firmware or to take part in surveys or interviews please complete your profile! We are looking forward to new testers helping us to improve Leica gear! abrewer Posted February 2, 2018 Share #49 Posted February 2, 2018 There's no way to know for sure if Leica will pick you for feedback on its projects; but, regardless of how much interaction you have personally with Wetzlar, this is a great opportunity to engage (or re-engage) with the company and to claim your rightful place as a stakeholder in the future of Leica and in the wonderful pursuit of photography that we all share together.

I know it's basically the same camera to the TL. but I suppose the firmware would be different...

Fred Holzapfel Posted February 8, 2018 Share #55 Posted February 8, 2018 Updated my profile. This would be an interesting experience. My first Leica was a IIIC that my father gave me. Learned a lot about photography from reading "The Leica Way" and Dad. Eventually he ave me his IIIF when he upgraded to an M2. My first digital was the M8. Then an upgrade to M8.2 and an M9P. Love these cameras. So simple to capture moments that folks hardly know you have a camera. Also have a C-Lux,D-Lux and a V-Lux. Being a beta tester would really be an interesting way to understand new things coming down the road. As well as give ones thoughts about the good and not as good things. Certainly hope to be chosen. strangeboy Posted February 26, 2018 Share #58 Posted February 26, 2018 Done! I'd love to do this. As a Leica photographer who shoots with the Zeiss 35mm Distagon T* 1,4 & 50mm Planar f/2, I'd love the opportunity to do a side by side comparison of the comparable Leica lenses. Additionally, I'm planning to purchase the new CL for use with my M lenses. So, I'm just sayin'
