jaapv Posted February 22, 2019 Share #63 Posted February 22, 2019 Good idea. IMHO the late-series cheesegrater Macs are the best Apples ever made, and fully upgradable.

Jeff S Posted February 25, 2019 Share #66 Posted February 25, 2019 My own tweaks... replacing some innards to make it run faster and more efficiently. That’s the benefit of the older Macs; new ones don’t accommodate user upgrades. Jeff
drew.saunders Posted February 26, 2019 Share #67 Posted February 26, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's always good to check the Mac Rumors Buyer's Guide: https://buyersguide.macrumors.com/#Mac You'll see what's been released lately, what's rumored to be released soon, etc. Apple has promised a new Mac Pro "soon," likely to be announced at WWDC in June. The regular iMac is long overdue for an upgrade, and the iMac Pro is probably due for an upgrade within the next year. The Mac Mini just got upgraded, if it looks like it will suit your needs. My work computer started coughing up a lung, so they bought me a new iMac (and it's really nice!), even though I knew it's overdue for an upgrade, but that's not my money. I'll upgrade my 2009 iMac if Apple releases a new one in the next few months. It is getting a bit tough to work with a large LR catalog and with large format scans.
