Leica M246 stitched sensor issue?

Hi

 

To my horror, I found this vertical stitched sensor issue on my Leica M246 today. I hav

taken several thousand of exposures with it but never noticed this...before today :-(

 

When I noticed it, I began looking through all my images from this camera, and they

do appear on about 50% when tweaking the exposure hard...(but can also be seen on several

without doing nothing) It appears on various ISO settings, and with several different brands/types

of SD cards...

 

Has anyone else seen this? Can't seem to find any other topic on this matter?

It’s probably a hot pixel that is causing the image processing algorithms to act weird. I had a similar issue on my MP240. I noticed it happened more when I was taking many shots and the camera was still processing (blinking red light) while I was shooting.

 

Leica can fix it. I think they just identify the hot pixel and force the algorithms to ignore it

The M cameras have a sensor made of two parts, and are "glued" together. Sometimes they are not perfectly tuned and will show slightly different exposure...particularly when "pushed".

 

If you push any image which has been grossly underexposed, on any M camera, you'll see the join.

Yes I know this, but the lower image is not pushed at all and I can still see the line...
