Advertisement Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Hi Nevik, Take a look here See new Leica lenses are rubbish. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
farnz Posted January 10, 2018 Share #42  Posted January 10, 2018 Ben here from Leica Manchester.  Apologies for the mix up guys, changed it straight away.  It was an error on the listing, but hey thats why pencils have erasers! Thanks to one of you guys for highlighting it to us.  If you want to have a poll for the punishment for our web guy I'm all ears  10 lashes with a mink whip.  Pete. NigelG Posted January 10, 2018 Share #43 Â Posted January 10, 2018 I have no connection with Leica Manchester but in their defence I have just received a pre-owned 21 S-E which arrived in better condition than I was actually expecting from the description.....(although I haven't tested it yet!). I dealt with Ben and was going to email him re this tread but see they are now aware. I took the descriptions to be a rather 'estate agent-y' take on what (when looking at the item details) are cheaply listed lenses with clear defects rather than any sort of 'deception'. They might perhaps have been less eyebrow-raising if the term 'glow' had been used instead of 'bokeh' - though still pushing it ......some hipster-types do love a bit of OTT "vintage" IQ though. Alberti Posted January 16, 2018 Share #45  Posted January 16, 2018 (edited) Maybe instead of bokeh we should say bogus then for all lense with defaults that images with a haze?  (A haze like several of my lenses that are quite good produce: 35mmCron I at full opening backlit on the street; Rokkor 28 idem; while both lenses are more than excellent in low contrast areas/circumstances. I like it: bogus images from my old Leica's . . .)  But wait . . .  before laughing. I was looking at a film a few days ago and the special effects used were not bokeh but a tinge of haze. A slight milky image from the windows created that special atmosphere. It might well become a new fad. Edited January 16, 2018 by Alberti
Rus Posted January 16, 2018 Share #46  Posted January 16, 2018 vaseline on the filter is perhaps more easily controllable and less troublesome to clean than haze?
