Sheldon! Posted January 2, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 2, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) My first post. I bought a "new, old stock" M240 circa 2013. Leica did the upgrade to 2.0.3.0 for me and I am verry happy with my latest addition to the family. Reading through the manual (GASP!....HE DID WHAT???) I see the ability to choose different levels of .jpg compression and whether I want DNG compression or not. (page 163) As I set up the camera I was unable to find the .jpg selections, but the DNG selection is there. Did the upgrade remove that option? If so, is it the "fine" or "standard" level it was set to with the .jpg images?
Advertisement Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 Hi Sheldon!, Take a look here .jpg compression selection M240. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted January 2, 2018 Share #2 Posted January 2, 2018 In the "set" menu you can choose the various output options. (DNG, DNG + jpg fine, DNG + jpg small, etc.) If you choose DNG-only in the "set" menu, the JPG options like sharpness and saturation will be greyed out in the main menu. Sheldon! Posted January 4, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted January 4, 2018 It all helped! Knowing there was another menu got me in the right direction. The issue was then finding the "SET" menu....... After that it was easy to .... uh.......set. BTW, I have noticed the camera is getting lighter as I use it. (as in "less heavy") Initially, It was fat and overweight compared to all the other Leica cameras I have had over the years. Somehow it now feel just about right. Thanks for your assistance! Highlight mine. I stopped using the half case (from M9 to M240) and it felt exactly the same.
