Leica M4 Shutter not working below 1/50

Hi All, Joined this forum to get some info on a Leica M-4 I have. The camera is pretty clean inside and out. When I cycled through the shutter speeds they worked fine until I reach 30 (1/30 second). I think the lightning bolt symbol in between 60 and 30 is 50. The shutter worked fine on that symbol but anything below, the shutter stays open. I have to put it on the B (bulb) to get it to close. Was wondering if anyone out there has info to share on this.

Sounds like you need to have that unit Cleaned, Lubricated and Adjusted by a qualified technician. I'm sure that many on this forum will have recommendations depending upon your location.

Shutter speeds below 1/50 rely on a separate "clockwork" delay mechanism. if it is stuck with dried lubricant it will act this way. Probably just needs a cleaning.
