Focusing issue with 35 pre

I have a M10, M6, SL, and MM1 CCD mono. My 35 pre asph works fine on all the bodies except the mono.  When I put that lens on the mono, and try to focus to infinity, the focus starts to get “stuck” just before infinity and doesn’t go all the way unless I force it.  All my other lenses work fine on the Mono and the 35 is fine on all the other bodies?  Wondering if its the lens or body that needs adjusting?

You have four Leica bodies and one combination seems problematic: the Mono & 35mm Summilux. Can we presume your other lenses fit and focus properly on all four bodies? The question seems to answer itself.

lpeeples, your 35 summilux is one of not compatible lens with M9 or MM.

You need to carefully mount the lens. Be sure not to have it focused at infinity !!!

Don't use the lens. You have a version of this lens that will need grinding down.

The black shroud will hit the inside of the M8 and M9 when focused at infinity.

Check the manual of Monochrom !!!

Thank you...

Any idea if that will cause the lens to be problematic with other bodies?

I don't think so. Maybe only on M10. But check the manual.

In any case I suggest to you to modify the lens. It's amazing on MM.

Sergius is correct:  the 35mm Summilux-M pre-Asph mount must be modified to focus properly and achieve infinity focus on the MM.  My 35 pre was modified by DAG.  He did a careful, precise and beautiful job.  He ground down the mount only where necessary so that the lens could still be placed mount-down on a table without damage to the rear lens element.  I sent Don Goldberg a mint lens and he returned a mint lens.  You can use DAG with confidence.   (Just Google Don Goldberg at DAG.)  Tom
