Advertisement Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Hi Learner, Take a look here Leica releases Firmware 1.7 for the T (re 18mm lens). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ralle111 Posted December 25, 2017 Share #2 Posted December 25, 2017 For me it seems that with the firmware upgrade 1.70 each lens I own (23, 18-56, 55-135) is focussing much faster (all of them were updated by the firmware) and there is no more delay in starting the camera. The only mess, as usual, all settings have to be fixed again. What do you think?

Most recent firmware upgrades I've been through ask you if you want to safe profiles.
frame-it Posted December 25, 2017 Share #4 Posted December 25, 2017 "By installing the firmware 2.2 on your Leica T (Typ 701) the new Elmarit-TL 18 f/2.8 ASPH. will be fully supported." ? so install 1.7 and then 2.2 or is 1.7 for the T equivalent to 2.2 on the TL-X ? Ralle111 Posted December 25, 2017 Share #5 Posted December 25, 2017 @frame-it: 1.7 is for the Leica T, 2.2 is for the Leica SL. TL2 has firmware1.2. Everything easily to be sorted out by looking at the Leica homepage.
Edber Posted December 26, 2017 Share #6 Posted December 26, 2017 It could be my imagination but start up on my T and autofocus with my TL35/1.4 seems to faster as well. Anybody else noticing the same? I never officially timed anything it just feel a little "snappier".

I am not seeing any differences in speed on the TL2 with the 35 1.4 nor the 60, but there certainly is with the CL. Rob Hi Rob, we are talking about the T and not the TL2! And the firmware 1.7.
ropo54 Posted December 26, 2017 Share #9 Posted December 26, 2017 Hi Rob, we are talking about the T and not the TL2! And the firmware 1.7. Yes, the latest T firmware is 1.7. This follows a firmware update for the TL2; it preceded the T update a few weeks ago. Both updates were to accomdate the new 18mm pancake lens. Tim B Posted December 26, 2017 Share #10 Posted December 26, 2017 My confusion is with my TL. Currently my firmware is 2.1 There is no mention on the Leica website of the TL at all. Is it already compatible with the new lens? I presume not. But what firmware upgrade is right for the TL? Any ideas, TL users? Thanks, Tim
Tim B Posted December 26, 2017 Share #11 Posted December 26, 2017 OK, I can answer my own question. (Sorry I also posted this mistakenly on the other thread about recent firmware.) Further searching on the Leica website reveals that whereas the T has its own listing for firmware, the TL is included in the APS-C list and has firmware 2.2 as of 21st December, which is to accommodate the new Elmarit-TL 18mm My Christmas brain is still recovering! frame-it Posted December 27, 2017 Share #12 Posted December 27, 2017 startup time is faster on the T, but Af on the 23mm is the same in low light/ indoor light It could be my imagination but start up on my T and autofocus with my TL35/1.4 seems to faster as well. Anybody else noticing the same? I never officially timed anything it just feel a little "snappier".
